FIVE THINGS 2023
We thought it would be fun to have everyone share 5 Things You Loved About 2023. A memory, a product, a movie, a song, an album, a book, an experience, whatever). It doesn't need to be overtly spiritual, but certainly can be. So we made a google form and plan to share the list next week if we get some answers.

There are many more people and experiences I am thankful to the Lord for in 2023, but these are the most interesting to share.
Jackfruit & Me'eat - Jackfruit is a weird fruit that taste like chicken in recipes. and Me'eat in recipes taste like ground beef, but both are low saturated fat substitutes. They have made eating more Plant Based (to lower cholesterol) delicious.
Season Tickets to K-State Women's Basketball - SP got them for her birthday and it's been so fun to go to games.
A family trip to Lake Michigan. A week with people we enjoy and great rest and refreshment.
The song "Behold" by Mission House. Every so often a song pulls me in emotionally, this was the song in 2023.
The book Digital Liturgies by Samuel Jones. It's helped me refresh how I want to use technology, phones, etc.

Toby. Caleb and I were not planning on getting a dog this year (or maybe ever). But the Lord provided him this year and it's been the best thing for us.
Pat Zimmerman put on 2 different shoes to go to the Youth Cookie Competition. I am still laughing randomly about this memory (I wasn't supposed to say anything to Brian...)
"Love Comes Down" by Shane & Shane. This a new-to-me song. I've listened to it maybe 100 times this month. The lyrics have really humbled me.
In January I took a trip to California with my high school girlfriends. We've never taken a big trip with each other ever. It was fun to be with them for 5 days (without kids). On our trip home, there was weather in Dallas that cancelled our flight, so I got to flex my planning-Peggy skills and rebook us through Chicago. They were all v impressed.
Nicola wanted accountability toward the end of her pregnancy to keep active, so we went on walks at least x2 a week. That was fun to look forward to something after work (and to actually get me leaving work on time).
Jon Dunning
